Facility Control Systems is an independent Professional Services and Consulting firm specializing in security and technology solutions for new and existing facilities. FCS provides excellence in physical security consulting design and technology solutions. We help to identify our customer’s needs and requirements and then design a tailored and integrated system to meet those needs and requirements. Our team offers expertise in all phases of the project including sustainability planning, design, project management, commissioning and user training. FCS has helped clients in the commercial, industrial, public, healthcare, professional sports and education fields with stand alone and enterprise solutions.

Access Control

Access Control Systems are widely variable from single door systems to world wide enterprise level systems. The type of hardware used, the integration of the systems with other life safety systems and code considerations all need to be taken into account when a system is selected and the design is developed. Facility Control Systems has extensive experience in standardization, system selection, design and can help clients from all industries and of all sizes in selecting and designing a sustainable system that meets their current and future needs.
Video Surveillance

Video Surveillance technology is rapidly changing and improving. With constantly evolving IP, HD and video analytic technologies it is more important than ever to make sure that the technologies that are selected meet the long term needs of the customer. Facility Control Systems has worked with existing and emerging technologies as a beta test site and runs a test lab to keep up to date with the newest cameras and recording platforms that come to market. We have experience designing, overseeing installation and commissioning systems ranging from a few covert cameras to camera systems for large industrial clients, sports venues, schools and government agencies. We also have extensive experience planning for analog to IP migration.
Intercom / P.A.

Facility Control Systems has designed and commissioned Intercom and P.A. systems ranging from single intercom or location to campus and enterprise wide systems that are fully integrated with the Access Control and Video Surveillance systems. Intercom / P.A. technologies are starting to make the shift away from systems that require home run wiring to head end equipment to IP based systems that allow end of line devices to be attached wherever access to the network is present. Facility Control Systems is keeping current with the technologies and has already engineered and deployed traditional, hybrid and IP systems.
Command Center Design

Command Center Design is many times as critical as the field and head-end equipment selection for a proactive security design. Even the most advanced physical security systems and life safety systems may not be used or monitored to their capability if the information is not immediately available or easily accessible. Taking a customers needs into account we develop a command center design that can range from a single user monitoring a few cameras and alarm conditions to many users operating and monitoring many systems simultaneously.
Communications Infrastructure

The communications infrastructure has never been as important, in security design, as it is currently. With so many security technologies moving away from proprietary protocols and stand alone networks towards standards based TCP/IP communications, a consultant that has experience in designing new network infrastructure and recommending changes to existing network infrastructure to accommodate the security technologies is invaluable. Facility Control Systems has worked directly with end users and with network equipment providers to help them understand the traffic loads that will be induced by the security technologies. Facility Control Systems can also make recommendations for network technologies, topologies and configurations that will best facilitate the desired operation.
Standards Development

Long term supportability of a system has become one of the defining criteria we see from many of our customers. One of the best ways to accomplish this goal is through the development of standards for the systems that are used. Facility Control Systems has extensive standards development experience. We can develop standard details ranging from door details, wiring details and equipment layouts for different types of doors to standard access control, CCTV and other system panel designs. Standards Development not only increases the long term supportability of a system it also streamlines the adds and changes process.
Risk Analysis

Many times facility managers, security managers and other personnel associated in preventing incidents think that their site or enterprise is secure until something goes wrong. Facility Control Systems, with our highly experienced and industry board certified consultants can help to identify risks and help tailor a plan to ameliorate those risks that is based on the best solution for our customer. Since we do not represent any product line or manufacturer, our recommendations are not based on what product lines we represent but what is best suited for the customer.
Systems Integration

Systems Integration may not be the first thing that comes to mind when envisioning a physical security system, but it is one of the most important aspects of system design to ensure our customers get complete systems that meet their needs. An example of integration that we have designed and commissioned is the integration of the intercom system with the access control and CCTV systems at a customer's site. When an intercom button is pushed, the nearest camera video is pushed to a call up monitor. If the camera is a PTZ camera it is moved to a preset position to view the intercom. An alarm event is created in the access control system indicating an intercom call came in and from what intercom the call was made. If access is granted and the door is momentarily unlocked as a result of the intercom call, that information is logged in the access control system.
